How free sharing works

The one part worth reading before you install.

Day one

The clock starts when you share

Not when you install. Set up your local sites, take a week over it — the allowance is untouched until the first time you put something on the public internet.

Seven days

Only the days you use it count

Each one runs a full 24 hours from the moment you open it, with nothing metered inside — a whole site, a hundred requests a page, as long as you like. Days you do not share cost nothing.

After that

One day, every 30 days

Enough to show a colleague what you are building. Not enough to work on — that part is what Pro is for. Your local sites never stop.

Questions worth answering

Why is the local half free?

Because it costs us nothing. Certificates and traffic inspection happen entirely on your machine — no server of ours is involved, so there is nothing to bill for. Public URLs run through our infrastructure and use real bandwidth. That is the line, and it is the only one.

What happens to my URL when the free window closes?

Nothing. The subdomain is bound to your account permanently, so it is not handed to anyone else and it is not regenerated. Share again — on the next free day, or on Pro — and it is the same address as before.

Why days rather than requests or gigabytes?

Because one page of a WordPress site is a hundred requests, and a webhook you are waiting on arrives twenty minutes after you stopped looking. Neither is a number anyone can keep in their head, and a limit you cannot predict feels like a broken product rather than a reason to pay.

Do I need an account?

Not to start. The dashboard runs signed out and the local half works immediately. Signing in is what gets you a public URL — and it is a button, when you want one.

Can I cancel?

Any time, and you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends. After that the account returns to Free — local sites keep working exactly as they did.
